| Our Mission: The overall goal of a coordinated school heath program is to help each child achieve and maintain optimum heath, so that maximum physical, emotional, and intellectual growth can occur. |
Health Services Provided:
Treatment of illness or injury: colds, flue, throat & ear infections, sprains, muscle pulls, and other concerns
Treatment for chronic conditions: under the direction of the student's primary doctor
Screening: blood pressure, blood sugar, anemia, nutritional status, growth and development, other health risk factors
Laboratory testing: tests to diagnose common illnesses: strep throat, urinary tract infections
Medication: over the counter medications will be dispensed and prescriptions written
Mental Health services: personal and family counseling is available, groups to address peer pressure; conflict resolution, etc.
Heath Education: individual and group education for students, parents, staff, and the community
Dental Care: screening for cavities and oral hygiene |

Vaccines & Immunizations
According to North Carolina law, immunizations are required for every student in grades K-12. Pursuant to (N.C.G.S. Chapter 130A-152, Article 6, Part B; N.C. Immunizations Rules 15A NCAC 19A.0400) Graham County Schools will adhere to the immunizations laws as stated in North Carolina School Health Program Manual, Department of Environmental, Health and Natural Resources, Public Schools of North Carolina 1997.
