Harry W. Clarke Memorial Scholarship
The Harry Wilson Clarke Scholarship Program was established by longtime friends and associates to honor the life of Harry W. Clarke, commemorating his commitment to educational opportunities for young people in
Western North Carolina
Criteria: Good moral character, financial need, academic ability/achievement, community service-contributions to school and community, and extracurricular activities/work experience.
Open to: Seniors who plan to attend a community college or four-year college
Application: Use the Community Foundation Common Scholarship application. See Mr. Poole for application.
Return application to: Mr. Poole, RHS Guidance Counselor.
Deadline: February 10th
Amount: One scholarship of $1,500, renewable for three years may be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a NC four-year college/university. One scholarship of $750, renewable for one additional year may be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend a NC two-year community college.
Payment of funds: Payment of the scholarship awards will be made to the school in the fall following the award for the recipients account. Scholarships may be renewed based on satisfactory performance.
Recipients will be contacted during the summer to gather information about educational plans. Funds will then be sent to the college you are attending.
