Michael Collins Memorial Scholarship

The Michael Collins Memorial Scholarship, established to honor the memory of a great student, friend and athlete, who died in a car accident on September 11, 2004 .

Applicants for this scholarship must show evidence of academic achievement in their high school career, and plan to attend Western Carolina . Also a personal friend of Michael’s is preferred.

The recipient will be selected by the school’s scholarship committee.

Open to: Seniors who plan to attend Western Carolina University .

Application: Online to print and return with copies of parents’ federal tax forms 1040 (page one only) and their W-2 forms for latest year these forms were filed. Note: In the case of divorced parents, only the custodial parent’s (and current spouse’s, if remarried) financial information is required.

Deadline: March 10th

Amount: $2000.00 non-renewable

Payment of funds: Funds will be awarded upon the completion of the second semester of the first year of college with a GPA of 2.5. Funds will be paid to the college.
