Rodney Orr Memorial Scholarship

Affiliate of the Graham County Community Foundation

Established in memory of Rodney Orr, a hometown hero, who grew up racing motorcycles and moved on to racing in NASCAR. In 1994, he crashed during practice for the Daytona 500. His family and friends established this scholarship in his honor to help Graham County students with financial need to continue their education.

The recipient will be selected by the RHS Scholarship Committee and the final decision is made by the family.

Open to: Senior who plan to attend college.

Application: Online to print and return with copies of parents’ federal tax forms 1040 (page one only) and their W-2 forms for latest year these forms were filed. Note:  In the case of divorced parents, only the custodial parent’s (and current spouse’s, if remarried) financial information is required.

Amount: Approximately $800.00 depending on Scholarship Endowment Fund.
